PETALOS - DO BIERZO - 2018

From El Bierzo, in the north east part of Spain, we get this wine made from Mencia grapes. The 2011 vintage of Pétalos del Bierzo was recognized as the best value Spanish wine of the year by Robert Parker.

The grapes used comes from plots of very old vines, aged between 50 and 90 years old. The harvest is done manually and the first selection occurs in the same vineyard.

Pétalos del Bierzo is aged for 10 months in French oak barrels before bottling.
